MANILA, Philippines – A new born baby, with underwear stuffed inside his mouth, was found in a dump in Quezon City early Friday, police said.

Police Officer 1 Jayson Tolentino said the baby boy, whose body was placed inside a carton box mixed with trash, was found by garbage collector Rolly Abon at a basketball court in Barangay (village) Matandang Balara in Quezon City around 6: 30 a.m.

The umbilical cord of the baby hasn’t been cut, Tolentino said.

A radio report said nearby residents lighted a candle for the baby.

Tolentino said investigators have yet to identify the person or persons responsible for the baby’s death.

At the same time, however, police are not dismissing the possibility that the baby may have died at birth that’s why he was thrown away.

    irresponsible parents!

  • Jane Tan

Lol… And people want to preserve our fertility rate. For what, garbage-dump-babies? I’m pretty sure babies that end up in garbage dumps don’t contribute to our labor force or a family’s income.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_OHOD5EA75DBBUH53UKLRXRK764 Mang Teban

You are heartless. A life was taken and all that comes into your head is about fertility rate? You even have the gall to be sarcastic about the death of an infant who you consider “useless” for the labor force or to contribute to a family’s income. How can you be so insensitive? Would like people to have wished that it was your own life that was taken instead? So, if you love yourself, you won’t think evil of your fellow human beings including the life in the womb of a mother. Shame on you!

      • Jane Tan

This is coming from a person who encourages people to irresponsibly make more kids.

Yes, I have the gall to be sarcastic when there are still people like you who support childbirth without responsibility.

      • boypalaban

      • Jane Tan

That’s why we give the people a choice to use contraceptives. Onga hinde 100% effective an contraceptives, but showing an ounce of responsibility is still better than showing none at all. Atleast you can say that you cannot control the urge but you used protection because you didn’t want the girl to get pregnant with a baby she doesn’t want and/or isn’t ready for.

Even a 10% reduction in the chance is better than a 0% reduction. Atleast you did something.

That is a whole lot better than advocating “no sex” to a country full of “pasaway”. That’s just complacency. Talk is cheap.

    • boypalaban

I related it to fertility because that’s one of your arguments. Well, where does fertility get you when the one’s that are born end up in garbage dumps? Kung gusto mo morality ito – can you still talk to me about morality when you encourage these people to continue to make more children?

Atleast you tried to be responsible. Atleast you did all you could do.

        L2thinkoutsidethebox.

Everyone should have no more retarded excuses for throwing-away children. No money? Use a free condom when you have sex. Don’t want a kid yet? Use a free condom when you have sex. Otherwise, just don’t have sex at all.

CRIMINAL! That’s how I call his mother. Even a porcupine protects its baby with all its might. As they say, make love in haste and repent in pleasure.

  • Pert Cabatana

Does the CBCP consider the RH Bill more immoral than dumping babies in the trash? Isn’t it also a failure of the church(es) whenever such baby-dumping incidents take place?

    • boypalaban

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_POBZSV5PGTGUS3YA2KR2NZI3HA Alex

what a hypocrite! you don’t know fair nor fairness.. you are always on the side of the bishops regardless of the issue.

      • boypalaban

and you always side with corrupt politicians in the guise of helping the women and the poor…hypocrite! uto uto!

      • boypalaban

i will admit that i am a hypocrite if you can cite any word/s that i have written here defending the bishops or priests on issues of corruption, pedophilia, hypocrisy, pro-GMA stand, critical collaboration with your god Ferdinand Marcos…

        o paki-cite…pakibanggit…o paki-copy paste…

      • boypalaban

mukha ngang totoo sinasabi mo…nabuhay ka e…

      • http://profile.yahoo.com/VS5EYSP4FPOTVQCJZ24NRE6Z2M Edgardo Mendoza

Where is the responsibility when they encourage people then they wash their hands of responsibility after the child is born?

      • boypalaban

      • Jane Tan

Hmmmm… wala silang sinabi, but, by barring the passage of a bill that seeks TO GIVE WOMEN A CHOICE when they give birth, they indirectly oppose it.

And I believe anti-RH repeatedly quote “go forth and multiply”.

You hate condoms. So, its obvious you oppose the usage of them – you’d rather people have sex without condoms, thus making more babies.

Anyway, let’s just say that anyone who opposes a law that seeks to reduce unplanned childbirth is, all for unplanned childbirth. There’s only two sides. If you’re against reducing it, then you want it to happen. Otherwise, you’d have suggested a solution that actually works rather than just opposing and opposing, and complaining incessantly about it.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_OHOD5EA75DBBUH53UKLRXRK764 Mang Teban

Another person with no thinking brain and feeling heart. You wrote with such impunity to pillory the Catholic Church and the CBCP and you ask if this was a failure of the church authorities? What nonsensical logic you possess!
Should you sin against another person (kill, steal, and destroy), would we blame the church that you belong? Why don’t you blame yourself? Spoiled brat!!!!!!!!!!!
Don’t you ever look at yourself in the mirror?

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/EA7TIY7PYXEU5UOXG2K5CY5F64 Eric

      I don’t think so and I don’t think so.
Find time to think…it’s good for the brain.

      • Jane Tan

Yes, it is when they decided for everyone in the Philippines how they should procreate. Newsflash, childbirth is part of procreation, upbringing is part of procreation. You can’t just stick your nose in one area, deciding for a person, then when something goes awry, you wash your hands of the responsibility.

      • boypalaban

      • Jane Tan

Nope. Pro-RH advocate the right to be given the choice to use Reproductive Health. THE CHOICE. Clearly, hinde mo parin nabasa yung bill.

Unlike certain people who want to impose their will upon an entire country.

And I used to wonder why the U.S. was able to colonize us with hardly any effort.

  • divictes

I think the baby was born alive, the underwear stuffed into his mouth was to prevent others from hearing his cry. I wish I am wrong.

  • geminimind

The underwear was not a baby size undie,it was the mother that owned it.Poverty was the culprit.
I just hope,I’m wrong about this one.
    Please help the poor.

    • boypalaban

If that’s the only thing you see, then its pretty obvious that you don’t care what happens to the children who get thrown away.

When a mother gives birth to another child that she cannot afford to feed and her family falls into extreme poverty, the Church benefits with yet another follower. If there was no poverty in the Philippines, it will be guaranteed that tithes or donations will decrease by a large amount.

You cannot assume that it is only one side that will benefit. Each side, whether its the Church or the corporation, will benefit should their side win.

All things equal, atleast reproductive health will also benefit those who need it. I can live with corporations getting richer with that trade-off. But, if the Church succeeds, what will these people get, more prayers?

      • boypalaban

may care na pala basta may contraceptives…
daming contraceptives sa US…dami ring inaabort…

      • justyouraveragechinoy

wow so Godless… will pray for you

      • Jane Tan

I suggest you pray for the children hanging outside a Church that has 24-hour aircon and flat-screen TVs, which btw, is a Catholic Church.

      • http://profile.yahoo.com/EA7TIY7PYXEU5UOXG2K5CY5F64 Eric

So when people get poorer, they get more religious.
When did the Catholic Church start tithing?
So when people get richer they become less religious and give less to the church. Wow.

        Mentor mo si Cabatana ne?

      • Jane Tan

It’s funny, its like you don’t live in the Philippines at all.

We live in one of the most religious-crazy country in the world where a huge chunk of the population prays to God for everything.

A huge lot of you even believed that God sent Pablo because of RH supporters, and don’t you deny it.

\When did the Catholic Church start tithing?\

I believe the word “donations” was stated. The Church doesn’t ask for donations? Do you even attend mass? Do you know what happens during the Preparation of the Gifts?

\So when people get richer they become less religious and give less to the church.\

What? Do you even understand what I said? When there is noone to donate to, why would you donate or who would you donate to? Of course, I’m quite certain that will never happen here.

And, to answer your weird question that has no connection to what I said, when people get richer, they donate for different reasons (i.e. live longer, get well from sickness, enter Heaven, etc).

    Jane Tan:
I am writing my response to you as one of the latest in this forum so you would be able to read it.
You really have a twisted mind as you deal with the issue of a dead infant as the fault of “irresponsible parents” and you proudly claim that you intentionally wrote to make sarcasm over the unfortunate death of a helpless baby,

When you blame those who are pro-life for the babies “thrown in the garbage”, you exhibit extreme insensitivity. Have you ever think that a human being has a soul? So when there are babies born every day, those infants have been gifted with souls by the Divine Creator.

Do you think that you were born without a soul? If you do, you must be rare because people who are aware that the soul goes to the next life beyond desire to go to eternal salvation and not eternal damnation. Thus, babies aborted or those who have been mercilessly thrown in the garbage left for good by the perpetrators have souls which our Lord God take away to be kept under His bosom.

It may entirely pointless for you if you have no fear for God’s divine justice. Just want to save your soul from further destruction while you still have your body with you breathing alive in this world. Think more profoundly about God’s purpose of creating human lives than your propensity to make knee-jerk reactions which are convenient and practical for you, sarcasm added. When you get to the bottom of things about your own purpose in this lifetime, then you just might wish your lucky stars that you have been blessed with life and God’s love for you no matter who and what you are. Hopefully, you would no longer place the blame on the preachers, pastors, priests, teachers of God’s word for the sins of others.
