Enrile gets early birthday greeting from Senate workers

By |

MANILA, Philippines – Senate employees on Wednesday expressed their support for Senate President (SP) Juan Ponce Enrile (JPE) several days ahead of his 89th birthday.

They greeted him with placards saying “Happy B-Day SP JPE gusto namin happy ka (we want you to be happy), we love you,”

The Senate leader will celebrate his birthday on February 14, which is also Valentine’s Day. The Senate however is about to go into recess to give way to the May 2013 elections campaign period.

“Gusto ko happy ka!” Was the campaign slogan of Enrile in the previous election.

Another placard read “SP JPE we support you all the way” while another read “Happy kami pag happy ka (We’re happy if you’re happy)!”

The employees also sported heart-shaped stickers on their chest with the words “I love Enrile.”

Enrile went out and thanked the employees. He assured them that he will always be there to help them.

“Salamat sa inyo. Ang Senado ninyo, asahan niyo na tutulungan kayo palagi (Thank you. Your Senate, you’re assured that you’ll be given help if you need it),” Enrile said.

“Palagay ko naman eh wala naman tayong mga dumi dito na tinatago kayo tayo pwede natin harapin ang bansa ng taas noo (I presume we’re not hiding something here so we can all face the nation with pride),” he said to the employees.
