Silvano battles Arlos this Friday, Suico in undercard

By

BOXING fans in the southern municipality of Dalaguete, Cebu will be treated to a night of professional boxing action this Friday when Virgilio ‘Maton’ Silvano of the Omega Boxing Gym defends his Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) junior flyweight title against Louie Arlos.

The 22-year-old Silvano (13W-2L-1D, 8 KOs) fought in Dalaguete last October 6, 2012 and stopped Lester John Prongco in eight rounds for a successful first defense of his PBF belt.

Arlos (7W-1L, 2 KOs), who hails from Bacolod City, suffered his only pro loss at the hands of Renoel Pael by split decision last July 2012 in Compostela, Cebu. He bounced back with a first round knockout win over Marlon Talili in Bacolod City.

A very interesting co-feature in this fight card is former three time OPBF champion Randy ‘Kumong Bato’ Suico, who will be facing William Jorge of Kidapawan City.

The 33-year-old Suico lost in Australia by 8th round TKO to Les Sherrington last November 30, 2012. Suico’s last appearance in Cebu was on November 2010 when he beat Arnel Tinampay by majority decision at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel.

Also penned to see action are Richard Rosales vs. Romel Garcia (8 rounds), Charlie Pucdol vs. Jimmy Salogaol (6 rds), Jimboy Haya vs. Kenan Villaflor (6 rds), Jhack ‘Golden Boy’ Tepora vs. Michael Berun (4 rds), Brandon Tavares vs. Mark Tubo (4 rds), and Mico Reyes vs. Rez Padrogane (4 rds).

This fight card is presented by Promoter Angel dela Merced, Omega Boxing Gym and the local government of Dalaguete. Fight time is set at 7 p.m.
