Cops nab 5 activists trying to stage rally near Malacañang

MANILA, Philippines – Five youth militants were arrested by the Manila Police District after attempting to stage a lighting rally near the Gate 7 of Malacañang Palace, a report on Radyo Inquirer 990 AM Monday said.

The arrested activists, composed of four males and a female, slammed President Benigno Aquino III for authorizing mining operations in some typhoon-ravaged areas in Mindanao. John Daryl Dimalanta
