Auditor faces malversation rap
A state auditor will be facing trial for allegedly pocketing P64,316 five years ago.
The Ombudsman-Visayas found sufficient basis to elevate the charges of malversation of public funds through falsification of an official document against Vivien Ortiz before the Regional Trial Court of Cebu City. No bail was recommended.
Graft investigation and prosecution officer Amy Rose Rellin said the evidence presented against Ortiz was enough to conduct a trial against her.
She used to be assigned in the National Transmission Corp. before she was transferred to the Commission on Audit in Central Visayas (COA-7)./Reporter Ador Vincent S. Mayol
