TV host Ryan Bang faces tax evasion raps

MANILA, Philippines–The Bureau of Internal Revenue on Thursday filed a complaint for tax evasion against a television show host.

In its complaint, television show host Hyun Sung Bang, also known as Ryan Bang, violated sections 254 and 255 of the National Internal Revenue Code for failure to file tax returns for 2010 and 2011.

Bang is a Korean citizen who now works as a television show host at ABS-CBN.

The BIR said based on the tax filings of companies that tapped Bang’s services such as ABS-CBN Corp., Summit Publishing Company Inc. and Studio 23 among others, he received at least P3.05 million in income in 2010 and 2011.

However, the BIR said no income or percentage tax returns were filed for 2010 and 2011.

The BIR computed Bang’s deficiency income and percentage taxes for 2010 and 2011 at P1.8 million, including surcharge and interest.

Ipatapon sa NoKor ang mga tiwaling opisyal ng pamahalaan. Inaabaso na nga ang buwis ng bayan hindi pa nagbabayad ng income tax.

Ryan Bang is no Gigi Reyes. Ryan Bang’s earnings do not come anywhere close to the untold riches and hidden wealth of Gigi Reyes. But instead of going after Gigi Reyes, BIR is hounding Ryan Bang because our homosexual president in Malacañang Palace has taken a fancy on this effeminate Korean TV personality. Indeed, our gay president Noynoy has a thing for things Korean. More specifically, Korean men. If Ryan Bang agrees to be Noynoy’s new boy toy, the government will confer upon him the official title of — Jewel in the Palace. Not bad for a foreigner who’s just starting out in his showbiz career on a foreign land. Not bad at all.

      • EdgarEdgar

don’t feel bad. you’ll still have your day with Ryan Bang once the queer president is done with him. Ryan Bang won’t be Noynoy’s Jewel in the Palace forever. patience is a virtue.

another case of non payment of taxes due by a showbiz personality!

maybe it’s about time that the BIR coordinate with all their employers to make sure that the withholding tax is made when they pay talent fees. and these talents should also make sure that the withholding tax is deducted. look at this case, his payable is more than half of what he made!

i remember there was a BIR form we filled out to support the withholding tax deducted. the payee was given a copy, another for BIR and one for our files.
