MANDAUE BURGLARIES

CASH and valuables amounting to P250,000 were stolen when a house and five apartments rooms were burgled in Mandaue City.

Police said unidentified thieves broke into the house owned by Rica de Jesus in Gentle Breeze Subdivision in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue.

De Jesus discovered that her house was burgled around 7 a.m, Monday.

Stolen were three units of Iphone worth P73,000; P12,000 cash; three pieces of jewelry items worth P71,000 and gift certificates worth P12,000.

Police said the thieves entered the house through a window on the second floor which was left unlocked.

Police will be viewing the subdivision’s security cameras.

In barangay Paknaan, valuables worth P44,600 were stolen from a two-story apartment.

Lotchie Banquisio, one of the tenants discovered that her room was burgled at 9:30 a.m. yesterday.

PO1 Demetrio Abella, investigator of the Basak police station, said it was later discovered that four other rooms were ransacked.

2 HURT IN CEBU CITY STABBINGS

TWO persons were wounded in separate stabbing incidents in Cebu City Sunday night.

Maria Duarte, 44 was stabbed in the body by her neighbor in sitio San Isidro, barangay Guadalupe.

The assailant was identified as a certain Negro, who fled after the attack.

Police said Duarte, her younger sister Heidi and some other neighbors were drinking in a birthday party of their neighbor Micah Ragrag when Negro and another man, identified as Jason arrived around 8 p.m.

Police said Negro and Jason were looking for Ragrag’s father Ben.

The two men argued with Duarte’s group until Negro drew a knife and stabbed the victim.

Duarte was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC).

Two hours later, a man was stabbed and wounded by his neighbor in barangay Tejero.

Anthony Siatanan, 29, sustained two stab wounds in the body.

The alleged assailant, Rex Biker, remains at large.

The two men are neighbors in sitio Silangan, police said.

Siatanan told police that he asked P6 from Biker so he could buy a bottle of softdrinks.

The victim alleged that Biker got irked and tried to stab him with a kitchen knife.

The victim escaped unharmed.

Siatanan later had a drinking session with another neighbor when Biker arrived and stabbed him.

2 MEN DIE IN ROAD ACCIDENTS

TWO men were killed in separate vehicular accidents in northern towns of Cebu last Sunday.

Joel Tillor died on the spot after he was thrown off a motorcycle which collided with a Mitsubishi Lancer along the national highway in barangay Estaca, Compostela town.

Tillor sustained head injuries.

Police said the motorcycle, driven by Alvin Tillor swerved to the opposite lane causing the collision past 4 p.m. Monday. The car was driven by Fidel Gansan, police said.

Tillor sustained bruises in different parts of the body.

A separate accident killed Ian Bataluna, whose motorcycle rammed a mini-bus in barangay Pitog, Consolacion town past 5 a.m. Sunday.

PO2 Johnesky Romero of Consolacion police said Bataluna came from a fiesta celebration and was driving home when he met the accident.
