7 hurt in Sta. Mesa explosion


MANILA, Philippines – Seven people were injured in an explosion that tore through a house in Sta. Mesa, Manila Wednesday night, radio reports said.

The blast hit the three-story house on Letsia Street, Barangay (village) 600, Zone 57 in Sta. Mesa past 8 p.m.

Reports said one of the victims was listed in critical condition in hospital.

Authorities are still determining the cause of the explosion but there were reports that it was triggered by a leaking cooking gas tank.

    Leaking cooking gas tank is the culprit?

    How can we make these things safe in our homes is the biggest question.

      Agree…there must be a tighter law about LPG. Seeing those rusty tanks? Or rusty tanks, repainted just to hide some degradations? No law yet so far that standardized LPG. However, BIR has a law on just, ICC stickers on helmets.
