Instead of cleaning, man ransacks Parañaque house
MANILA, Philippines—A man entrusted to clean a house in Parañaque City Sunday morning ransacked it instead and escaped with thousands of pesos in cash and valuables including a laptop and a racer bike.
Ralph P. Chan, 56, of Raphael Street in Kraus Village in Barangay San Isidro, accused Spencer Vilaga, 24, of Creekside, Fortunata Village in Barangay San Isidro, of stealing his Sony Vaio laptop, racer bike, more than 20 watches, a number of cell phones including an Apple iPad 3 and a Samsung, Casio and Kodak digital cameras, a Bose headphone, and a number of gold rings, necklaces and accessories, and almost P27,000 in cash.
Chan reportedly asked Vilaga’s help to clean his house and gave the suspect the keys that morning, after which the victim left to attend to his errands. But when Chan returned later at 5:30 p.m., he discovered the cabinet ransacked with Vilaga and the items missing.
