Metro temperature dropped 18.8°C, coldest for year–Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila’s temperature dropped to its coldest for the year at 18.8 degrees celsius at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 6 a.m., while 19.5 degrees Celsius was recorded also at 6 a.m. at the Science Garden in Quezon City, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said in its bulletin Friday.
The cold weather was caused by the northeast monsoon that will continue to affect Luzon and the tail-end of a cold front in the Visayas, the state weather bureau said.
Northern Mindanao, Caraga region, Eastern and Central Visayas will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers or thunderstorms, Pagasa said.
Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon will be cloudy with light rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, it added.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail throughout the archipelago and the coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
