Fire hits Floodway community in Cainta
MANILA, Philippines—Fire gutted a residential area in Rizal Thursday afternoon, a city fire officer said.
Fire Brigade radio operator Rey Reyes said the fire that hit a slum community in Westbank Floodway in San Andres, Cainta, Rizal, started around 4:30 p.m.
Almost 50 fire trucks responded to put out the fire, Reyes said.
The fire was still raging as of early evening, a television report said.—Jamie Marie Elona
