Woman loses gadgets in SUV to thieves in Makati

A woman lost her laptop computer, tablet and other gadgets to thieves who broke into her car by smashing one of the windows of her sport utility vehicle on Monday night.

A police report said Floressa Veroejo parked her Mitsubishi Montero in front of Amber’s Best Restaurant and Ihaw-Ihaw in San Antonio, Makati City, at 7:30 p.m.

When she returned, she found out that someone had smashed the rear window of her vehicle and taken her Toshiba laptop computer, iPad, hard drive and other valuables.—Jodee A. Agoncillo

Knowing there are just too many thieves in our country, will you not agree, people who owns things that are valuable should not be leaving these inside their automobile?  Should they not know it by now or haven’t they been reading news lately?  I think the blame is no longer on thieves but of people who continue tempting criminals to steal things they leave behind.

Makati should install CCTV. It is not that expensive anymore. Maybe Mayor Binay could allocate 50 million for several hundred cameras in selected areas for 2013.
