Nationals face Jordanians

THE SMART-GILAS Pilipinas guns for a win and a berth in the next round when they face off against Sporting Amarex of Jordan in their final preliminary round game in the 24th Dubai International basketball tournament today at the Al Ahli Sports Club.

The Nationals were whitewashed in their last game against Al Ahli, 82-97, for their first loss in the tournament. They opened their stint with a rousing 79-77 win over Mouttahed a few days ago.

With a team devoid of imports and bannered mostly by players coming from the cadet team, naturalized player Marcus Douthit is gearing to bounce back from his nine-point performance the other day.

He scored 20 in their opening match but struggled mightily against the huge frontline of Al Ahli./Correspondent Jonas Panerio
