Couple seek help for sick 13-year-old daughter

By

Lovely Timajo

Thirteen-year-old Lovely Timajo, who has been suffering for the past three years from alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, a malignant tumor of the muscle-and breast, is in desperate need of help.

She was rushed to the Philippine Children’s Medical Center on Monday after her blood platelet count went down to a very low level, according to her mother, Shirley.

To bring back the blood platelet count to its normal level, Lovely needs to take G-CSF, costing P5,400, for three successive days.

Shirley and her husband, Alexander, who earns a living by selling bread, do not have the means to buy the expensive medicine.

“I was crying in the hospital on Christmas Day because I could not believe that we would have to start all over again with six chemotherapy sessions. This is because Lovely’s doctors have discovered new cancerous outgrowths,” Shirley said.

Apart from appealing to Inquirer readers for help, the Timajos have knocked on the doors of several senators for financial assistance.

Each chemotherapy session costs P85,000.

Shirley Timajo can be reached at 0928-9590769. Those who want to help Lovely can deposit their donations to Shirley’s BPI bank account No. 0649104476 (Marilao, Bulacan, branch).
