The National Capital Region posted the highest number of index crimes, or crimes against persons and property (murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, robbery and theft), among the country’s regions from July to September this year. It accounted for around 10,000 cases during the period, or about 30 percent of the more than 33,200 incidents recorded nationwide.—Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
