20 injured in QC bus accident

By |

MANILA, Philippines—Twenty people were injured after two passenger busses figured in an early road accident in Quezon City Friday, a city traffic sector officer said.

Senior Police Officer Gary Tanacay said a Prado bus suddenly hit a Jayross bus from behind while travelling along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City around 5:30 a.m.

He said initial investigation showed that the Prado bus hit the other bus after its driver lost control of its vehicle due to slippery road caused by the light rains earlier Friday.

“Maambon noon at madulas ang kalye so kapag tumutok ka sa isang sasakyan sa harap mo tapos bigla s’yang nag slow down, ang tendency is babangga ka don,” Tanacay said.

The injured passengers were all from the Prado bus, Tanacay said, noting that one was severely injured, while the rest suffered only from bruises and bumps. They were rushed to the East Avenue Medical Center in QC.

Forgive my language, but this driver is an epitome of a ‘TARANTADONG” Pinoy. Alam niya delikado pero ginawa pa niya. Dapat jan, itali sa likud ng bus where the road is slippery. Then pray for a sudden stop along Commondeath Avenue. That’s what I call justice.

I fear for my kids driving home at night  along Commonwealth Ave. because of these demons in Commonwealth Ave. Nabawasan na ng malaki ang accidents dyan. But may pa ilan ilan pa rin na TARANTADO NA MGA BUS DRIVERs! The public owes MMDA a lot of gratitude for the imporved situation in Commonwealth Ave. But these tarantado bus drivers must be driven out of the streets!

Buntong-hininga na lang palagi maibibigay natin ordinary private vehicle drivers and always praying hard na wag natin makaengkwentro sa daan itong balasubas na PUB drivers, kasi kung mismong LTO & LTFRB natin cannot think of ways how to punish the PUB drivers as well as the PUB operators when they commit violations na magdadalawang isip itong mga hunghang na bus drivers na umulit ng pagkakamali.
PUB drivers should not be driven out of the streets, they still serve the commuting public although passengers are always in fear if they will come out of the bus still alive, but LTO should come up of extra requirements and of its strict implementation applicable for PUB drivers and LTFRB for PUB operators.

You have monkey bus drivers, you have monkey traffic enforcers, and you have monkey regulators equals wild wild roads.

Please stop suggesting giving a driver safety course as a punishment for these tarantado drivers. They should be locked up immediately instead, or better yet, subjected to a firing squad.
