870 ship passengers stranded in Cebu due to storm ‘Quinta’

CEBU CITY, Philippines — At least 870 passengers were stranded in Cebu after the Coast Guard barred 16 vessels from leaving Cebu port due to storm “Quinta.”

According to Capt. Rolando Punzalan, Cebu coast guard station commander, several routes were affected.

Grounded were vessels bound for the towns of Tubigon and Getafe as well as Tagbilaran City in Bohol; Leyte; from Hagnaya in Daanbantayan town to Bantayan Island; from Danao City to Camotes Island in Cebu and those bound for Negros Island.
