Estrella flyover now 2-way on weekdays

The Estrella flyover on Edsa in Makati City is now open to two-way traffic for three hours every morning on weekdays.
MMDA Chair Francis Tolentino on Friday said the flyover, which was accessible only to northbound vehicles since its construction in 1998, will be a two-way lane from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday to Friday.
“Hopefully we can reduce the daily (traffic buildup) on Edsa’s southbound lane, especially on the approach to the Buendia U-turn slot,” Tolentino said.
He noted that 25 percent of the vehicles at Edsa-Kalayaan going to Buendia are from the right-turning traffic on Estrella Street during rush hours. J. Gamil
