Kids in bloodbath
Last week another shooting incident happened in the United States of America that killed 20 children and six adults in Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. The suspect is 20 years old, the son of a teacher in that school who was also found dead in her home that she shared with him. He used the identification card of his elder brother to enter the school and commit the assault. The guns used were apparently owned by the mother who is a collector. They were legally acquired.
The suspect also killed himself. Some of the chilling stories narrated by the survivors told us of the heroism of the adults who were killed as they practically protected the children from the assault that resulted in their deaths.
What amazed me is the process of the investigation conducted by the police that was deliberate and very cautious even in making statements about the incident unlike in our country where you can immediately see the failure to preserve evidence in the crime scene and where police officers already make statements even if they have not yet finished their investigation.
In Newtown, the dead bodies were not moved until two days later after the police and the victims’relatives were certain to identify the corpses.
The news reporters are now trying their very best to look into the reason the 20 year old did the assault. What they initially found out was that the mother is divorced from her husband and the son was educated at home by the mother who is a teacher.
The brother said that his brother who carried out the massacre is an autistic boy. Apparently the boy has no social life, not much interaction with the community though the mother is very sociable mother and has been seen joining community activities.
I think it is helpful to find the reasons these incidents continue to happen in the US and what are the reasons that drive the peretrators of such dastardly acts. I am praying for the victims and the suspect. I am praying that an incident like that in Newtown will not happen to us Filipinos.

Now it can be told that before the fight of Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez, Manny’s trainer Boboy Fernandez attempted to put the rosary on Manny but was stopped by pastors who accompanied Pacman during the fight. They asserted that there is no need for the rosary because Manny would be protected by 50 angels.
Now I am a Catholic and just like the Catholic priests I believe that religion has nothing to do with the defeat of Manny Pacquiao but he was ill prepared for the fight and distracted by so many things.
JM Marquez, I was informed, prepared hard for the fight so much so that he trained for four months while Manny Pacquiao only trained for four weeks. I thought that Manny may think of retiring already because he has saved so much but I was informed that he has not done so. He has not even invested wisely his earnings in our country or in the US.
Because of this we may not see the end of Manny Pacquiao yet and will continue to see him fight in the boxing arena contrary to the wishes of his mom, Aling Dionisia. Well I would like to wish Manny Pacquiao well and reques that he start investing his money wisely because boxing will not be forever.

I would like to share with you some neat lessons that I have learned in attending Sunday Masses at the Sacred Heart Parish in D. Jakosalem, Cebu City where the officiating priests Fr. Ernesto Javier, SJ and Fr. Mores for three Sundays have emphasized the significance of the three Advent Sundays already.
Last Sunday was Gaudete Sunday meaning “Rejoice” for the coming of Jesus Christ. Advent according to Frs. Javier and Mores this means preparation for the coming of Christ and should not be treated as an anticipation.
Fr. Mores challenged the parishioners to look into themselves and what kind of preparation we are all doing. I really love going to <ass at the Sacred Heart parish because the priests go straight to the point in their homilies. How I wish this is true of priests in other parishes.
