Price freeze only adopted in typhoon-hit areas – DTI

/ 02:27 PM December 11, 2012

MANILA, Philippines – Trade and Industry Undersecretary Zenaida Maglaya said Tuesday the implementation of price freeze only covers specified areas in the southern part of the country that was hit by typhoon “Pablo.”

In an interview with Arlene de la Cruz and Jake Maderazo of “Banner Story” on Radyo Inquirer 990AM, Maglaya said that although President Benigno Aquino III placed the whole country under a “state of national calamity,” the government’s price restrictions on essential goods are only adopted in typhoon-ravaged areas.

Reports said the price controls will be effective for 60 days unless lifted earlier.
