O’Halloran-Miller tandem tops unique Vaseline Men Xterra Putik Pare team race

Conquering a unique race, Mathieu O’Halloran and Joseph Miller emerged as the overall top duo in the Vaseline Men Xterra Putik Pare Team Duathlon recently at Clark Freeport in Pampanga

O’Halloran and Miller, both professional triathletes, completed the grueling route that includes an 18K bike,10K trail run and a mud pit challenge in one hour, 45 minutes and 44 seconds to beat over a hundred pairs.

Jhomilodin Lucman and Roldan Antonio checked in five minutes later at 1:50:38 to claim runner-up honors, while celebrity triathlete Matteo Guidicelli and Noel Salvador wound up third with a time of 2:02:16.

Sen. Pia Cayetano, also an avid racer, teamed up with Myla Miranda to rule the all-female division in runaway fashion at 3:03:50.

Runner-up pair Bernice Francisco and Cecille Ty clocked almost an hour later at 3:51:30, followed by the tandem of Janice Tanada and Jean Claire Pineda at 3:57:51.

In the mixed category, Michael Razal and Amelia Lucman topped with a time of 2:13:47, while Wreachelle Cordova and Ronald Santos (2:14:34) and Kevin Eijan Santos and Julla Timan (2:31:13) rounded up the podium finishers.

O’Halloran also dominated the Vaseline Men Xterra Pang Rave Run, the second leg of the race series, while Guidicelli recently suited up for the five-man Philippine team in the Vaseline Men Xterra Off-road Triathlon Global Championship in Maui. /inquirer
