A JAPANESE man reported to the police that his dog has been missing since Saturday evening.

Eiji Wada, 33, of Tokyo, Japan, was accompanied by Julie Sato, also a Japanese, to the Investigation and Detection Management Branch (IDMB) of the Mandaue City Police Office to report the incident.

Wada told police that the dog went out of his house on Oakridge Business Park, AS Fortuna Street, barangay Bakilid, Mandaue City around 11 p.m. last Saturday after his househelper forgot to close the gate.

Wada said he was having sleepless nights since his mini pinscher ‘Puchi’ went missing. He said he has been roaming around the city to look for his dog.

He said the dog, given by his mother as a birthday present a few years ago in Japan, was like a family member to him.

“Now that my dog is gone, I can’t sleep,” said Wada, who has been staying in Cebu for the past month.

Wada, secretary to the chief executive officer of Equal Bright Inc., said he was willing to give a P5,000 reward to whoever can return his dog.

Chief Insp. Micheal Anthony Bastes, chief of IDMB, said they were already coordinating with City Veterinary head Dr. Daisy Penetrante for the recovery of the dog. /CORRESPONDENT JUCELL MARIE P. CUYOS
