12 hurt in 3-vehicle smashup in Quezon

MANILA, Philippines—Twelve people were injured when a passenger bus tried to overtake a truck but slammed into an oncoming vehicle in Tagkawayan, Quezon before dawn Friday, police said.
A Bicol-bound RSL bus was negotiating a curve on Quirino Highway when it tried to overtake a 10-wheeler truck but smashed into another truck on the opposite lane between 4 a.m. to 5 a.m., Senior Police Officer 4 Justino Legaspi said
The 10-wheeler truck, meanwhile, also hit the other vehicle on its rear when it blocked the road following its head-on collision with the bus.
Most of the injured passengers were from the bus, Legaspi said, but added that they sustained only minor wounds.
Some of the victims had been discharged from the hospital, he said.
