MANILA, Philippines – Newly appointed Supreme Court Associate Justice Marvic Leonen attended Monday’s flag ceremony along with eight other justices.

Leonen, the youngest to be appointed justice this century and the second in the history of the Supreme Court, said he represents the youth sector in the high court.

Leonen also stressed the importance of cooperation to be able to accomplish the court’s targets.

Aside from Leonen, also present in Monday morning’s flag ceremony were Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, Associate Justices Presbitero Velasco, Arturo Brion, Mariano Del Castillo, Roberto Abad, Martin Villarama, Jose Perez and Jose Mendoza.

Leonen, who is turning 50 on December 29 will serve as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court for 20 years.

He is the only high court associate justice with a verified twitter account.

On his November 24 tweet, he said he was already building his staff of lawyers and paralegals.

The daybreak for the Supreme Court begins to shine.

what do you mean? astronomically speaking, Twilight is the time between dawn and sunrise or between sunset and dusk, during which sunlight scattering in the upper atmosphere illuminates the lower atmosphere, and the surface of the earth is neither completely lit nor completely dark.

however, literarilly, it mostly pertains to the ending part of one’s life.

so which is the one tyou meant?

      • virgoyap

Yes, sorry and thank you for the correction.

      • marionics

no, i am not correcting you, i am just asking for clarification on what you meant. maybe you have a different reference which i do not know of so therefore i am really asking you what you meant. it was not a rhetorical question he he

      • virgoyap

He he he I was really wrong marionics. Different thing came to my mind upon thinking the word “twilight” I thought it was a blister of the morning sun. Thanks again for the concern.

What’s with the SC flag ceremony that’s worth reporting a thousand times?  Come on.  How many times was this reported ever since a new SC justice was appointed?  This isn’t news.  This is intrigue. This is divisive.  This kind of news deserves to be in the last page of Bandera, showbiz section.

This kind of reporting proves PNoy’s point.  The media needs to step up.

  • Juan_Ton

Represents the youth? Kailangan ba representative ng lahat ng sector sa SC? Diba given na yun na courts of law are for all, so di na kelangan ng representatives… Masyado naman namumulitika itong boses batang baguhan na ito na wala pa naman napapatunayan at ang tanging puhunan ay malapit sa pangulo…

  • disqusted0fu

Peralta, the most rabid Arroyo supporter, will never attend the flag ceremony.
