Hijab first in British parliament

LONDON — A 16-year-old girl is thought to have become the first person to speak from the House of Commons despatch box in the British parliament while wearing a hijab, The Times newspaper reported Saturday.

Sumaiya Karim a biology, chemistry, history and maths student, was speaking as the Youth Parliament held its annual session in the lower house’s chamber, where Britain’s MPs gather.

Karim, from Wokingham, west of London, said: “Wearing the hijab was my own choice.”

The Muslim hijab scarf covers the head and neck but leaves the face exposed.

British ministers and opposition shadow ministers stand at the despatch boxes when they address the Commons.

The democratically elected Youth Parliament members, aged 11 to 18, are elected to represent the views of young people in their area to government.

I have no problem with people wearing a scarf as long as your whole face could be identified. In the Philippines and the western world,  only criminals cover their faces.  Hijab is not a muslim thing. Hijab is a tribal practice being elevated into Islam. Ask muslim scholars, they’ll tell you.

Hijab is not only a tribal practice. There are lots of verses in the Qur-an that mandate a Muslim woman to wear hijab.

I have a dislike for Islam. One that came only after I did research on the Quran and the life of their prophet, so I’m not pulling this out of nowhere. The translations speaking about the covering of a woman are ambiguous. That comes from Islamic scholars that are practicing Muslims. Muslims took a small, vague idea and ran with it which created the hijab of today. Just like how the Saudis just recently started electronically tracking their women so that their husbands will know if they leave the country.
Western nations consider moving forward as new technology and moral progress. Muslim nations consider a new way of subjugation as progress.

I doubt if you have really read the Quran well. You are simply exposing your concoction out of your own hallucination.
