Obama thanks campaign volunteers, sheds tears

WASHINGTON—In the most candid and emotional scene ever captured of Barack Obama on camera, the normally composed US president teared up as he told young campaign workers of his pride in them.

Obama’s campaign team distributed on Thursday a YouTube video of the president’s emotional tribute to his team at his Chicago headquarters the day before, hours after he won reelection to a second term.

“What you guys have done, means the work that I am doing is important, I am really proud of that, I am really proud of all of you,” Obama said before pausing as tears welled up and dampened his cheek.

“I am absolutely confident that all of you are going to do just amazing things in your lives,” Obama said, standing alone at a microphone with a poster of his slogan “Forward!” behind him on the wall.

“What Bobby Kennedy called the ripples of hope that come out when you throw a stone in a lake, that is going to be you,” Obama said, his voice still hoarse from days of campaigning.

The YouTube video was posted on BarackObama.com and was distributed by campaign staff on Twitter and e-mail.

Obama campaign manager Jim Messina said in an e-mail to supporters that the president was not just talking to campaign workers in the office, but to all the thousands of volunteers who built his huge grassroots movement.

“He was talking to all of you,” Messina wrote in the e-mail.

Obama, famed for his cool, “no drama” persona, has sometimes been accused of showing too little emotion in public and appearing aloof. He nonetheless got teary in stump speeches at the end of both his 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns.

But he has rarely displayed the kind of raw emotion that was seen in the YouTube video.

Datukalun do you realize not everyone worships the same God?  Or any God?  He is the President of the United States of America, not the Pope. And the USA is a country that embraces people of all kinds, regardless of their race, religion, or sexual orientation.  If you don’t like it, maybe you should leave.

When population grows bigger, it’s time we need Change. Traditional beliefs should be supplanted by the new ones. As what God’s plan states, live in His Grace because no one is to be justified by following the Laws. It is different to Live Under the Law and Living under the Spirit of God. This is what all church leaders failed to understand. And it is reasonable for men to change his world for good. That’s the reason also why we need Mr. Barrack Obama. Congratulations sir!

Pertaining to some comments on same sex legislation, how can a gay marrying same gay be a sinner? First and foremost, they should never live under the law of men and women. Why? Because they should not to be considered a man nor a woman. They belong to third sex my friend. Wisdom is given by God to men. Governments were formed by God himself to rule mankind. If the government forming nations was granted by god to rule, then therefore whatever laws it is going to impose is honored by God. Because government is impossible to rule without promulgating laws. The Ten Commandments was given to men subjected to be followed by an individual person and not of the government or nation. Government is a separated entity having Freedom and Power To Rule. Will the government commit a sin? Will Barrack be charge a sinner? No! Because there is no law given by God for a government to follow. It is within logic also that when there is no law, then there’s no crime and no sin. Barrack is a part of a government, but if he is going to do it by himself (ex. marrying a gay wherein he already had his Michelle), that’s the time he is going to commit sin.

May all state leaders follows your example, a man of wisdom, a leader, a man of God! God loves you barrack. – abdul ahad
