Utassco nails third straight win in Power 40 hoop

THE Utility Assurance Corp. (UTASSCO) nailed its third win in as many games after drubbing Alfa Electrical, 115-100, Tuesday night to snare the early lead in the Power Forty Basketball Club-2012 X’mas basketball tournament at the Emilio Jaca Memorial gym.

Utassco jumped to a, 34-17 run in the first period with skipper Flor Yosores and forward Mardy Echavez leading the assault and kept its double-digit advantage the rest of the way.

Wewe Cabrera and Flor Yosores led Utassco with 26 and 22 points, respectively while Joel Jaca and Allan Dela Rama paced Alfa Electrical with 26 and 21 points.

Earlier, Park n’ Go Bakeshop whipped Jenjic Commando, 111-88, anchoring its win with a massive, 40-26 output in the fourth period.

Bull-strong center Erik Abatayo and triggerman Jingjing Rama scattered 26 and 21 points, respectively for Park n’ Go while Joel Cañete and Titing Moneva paced Jenjic Commando with 31 and 14 markers.

In the mainer, Water Market blasted Allyn & Sons, 110-90, to tie their victims at 2-3.

Skipper Vez Eleguin and Domie Ozon led Water Market with a game-high 24 and 21 points, respectively, while Cards Vernaiz and July Capala paced Allyn & Sons with 23 and 22 markers.
