CEC ‘88 Foundation celebrates Children’s Day with Guba pupils

In celebration of the Universal Children’s Month, the CEC ’88 Foundation Inc., in cooperation with barangay Guba school officials and teachers, hosted the Children’s Day event in the mountain barangay of Guba, Cebu City last Oct. 20.

More than 1,000 elementary school pupils and high school students were treated to an afternoon of games, inflatable slides and other surprises.

“This annual activity is like a fiesta celebration for the children in barangay Guba during the month of October. We believe that every child has the right to engage in play and recreational activities that are also crucial in developing the child’s social skills by interacting with other peers,” CEC 88 Foundation president Dewey Choachuy Jr. said.

The CEC 88 Foundation, Inc. has an ongoing education support program in barangay Guba, which is now in its fourth year.

To date, the scholarship program has benefitted 166 elementary and high school students, including those from nearby barangay Sirao.
