Man shot in Talisay jeepney robbery

A 25-YEAR-OLD man was shot when he resisted a robber inside a passenger jeepney in barangay Lawaan I, Talisay City last Saturday dawn.

Elmer Villarin, 25, resident of barnagay Balirong, Naga City, was wounded in the left leg.

Police said the three robbers had just boarded a jeepney when they declared a hold-up at dawn last Saturday.


One of the robbers shot Villarin when the victim refused to yield his belongings. The robbers then took Villarin’s  bracelet and necklace worth P2,500 and a cellphone worth P3,000.

Villarin’s companion, Ralf Pellerin, 24, handed his sling bag containing a necklace and P150 cash to the robbers.

Villarin was brought to the Minglanilla District Hospital.
