Ex-traffic enforcer shot dead in TalisayCebu Daily News
AN unidentified gunman with two companions shot dead a former Talisay traffic enforcer last Thursday in Colis St., barangay Tabunok, Talisay City.
The gunman shot Emmanuel Labajo in the stomach after a heated argument which ended in a fistfight at 3:15 p.m. Labajo didn’t reach the hospital alive.
SPO4 Daniel Tarucan, Talisay City police investigator, said they were looking into illegal drugs as possible motive in the killing.
Tarucan said he was sure the shooting had nothing to do with Labajo’s former job as a traffic enforcer.
Police investigation showed that Labajo arrived in the area and talked with the gunman and his two companions. The three men were aboard a parked Isuzu Crosswind.
Witnesses told police that the three men tried to convince Labajo to board the vehicle and go with them. But when the victim refused, an argument ensued which ended in a fistfight.
The gunman took out an M4 Carbine rifle and shot the victim several times.
After the shooting, the gunman and his two cohorts escaped aboard their vehicle heading towards barangay Lagtang. /Correspondent Gabriel C. Bonjoc
