One dead, 3 injured in QC house fire

By

MANILA, Philippines — A man died, while three members of his family were injured, after a pre-dawn fire gutted their ancestral house in Quezon City Thursday, a fire officer said.

Senior Fire Officer 2 Albert Flores said identified the fatality as Robert Chua, 50.

Those injured were Lucy and Neil Chua, and Domingo Cabangon.

The fire at Chua’s house along the corner of Banawe and Cuenco streets in Barangay (village) Lourdes in Quezon City happened at 1:05 a.m.

Radio reports said Chua woke up the others when he sensed the fire, but went back in an attempt to save important documents.

Flores said the fire reached fifth alarm before it was declared out at 4:15 a.m.

The information on the cause and origin of fire was not immediately available, Flores said.
