House goes on recess

MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives has gone on recess for All Saints Day.

Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. upon announcing their adjournment said that the 15th Congress “would always be remembered for passing three national budgets in record time. That has never happened before.”

“Each time we made a home run,” he said.

Lawmakers will reconvene November 5. Belmonte said that they would tackle important bills such as those on Reproductive Health and Freedom of Information.

Ahhh… the perks of working for the government. Early recess, and they will go back to work on a later date.

Now, let’s compare the efficiency of the public sector to the private sector, the latter of which functions more or less like a well-oiled machine. Why? Because the private sector doesn’t have these “extended” breaks.

Why not make Congress and Senate….part time legislation jobs.
They have more breaks, recess than actual work. More so, there are too many of them eating the budget of the gov’t.
