9 fishermen missing in southern part of Scarborough Shoal

MANILA, Philippines – Nine fishermen have been reported missing since last week in the southern part of Scarborough Shoal in Zambales, the disputed territory between China and Philippines, the Philippine Coast Guard said Thursday.

The Coast Guard Detachment of Masinloc has launched a search for the fishermen who were aboard F/Bca Jericho.
The boat has failed to return from their fishing venture in Scarborough since October 1, authorities said.

The missing fishermen are following:

1. Ricky Quidez
2. Mac Mac Quidez
3. Melbert Quidez
4. Joven Cervantes
5. Glen Reyes
6. Gardo Docusin
7. Rogelio Elesterio Sr
8. Joseph Valdez
9. Bibiano Dela Peña III

Village officials and fishing sectors were advised by the Coast Guard to be on the lookout for the missing fishermen.
