NCRPO fires 12 erring cops

MANILA, Philippines—The cleaning up of the police ranks in the National Capital Region Police Office continues as 12 more policemen were dismissed from the service, while 18 others were either demoted or suspended.

The move was made after they have been found neglectful of their duties, NCRPO director, Chief Superintendent Leonardo Espina said Wednesday.

Dismissed for grave misconduct were Police Officer 3 Eddie Tayo; Senior Police Officer 1 Salvador Cardenas; SPO1 Elmer Parales; PO3 Alexander Rafer; and PO1 Jeffrey Surmaco.

PO1 Al Rashid, PO1 Dennis Fadol, PO1 Kenneth Asidao, were, meanwhile, terminated for committing absence without official leave; and PO1 Ricardo Sibayan, PO2 Jonathan Leonardo, PO1 Alexander de los Santos, and PO3 Romeo Bianes for serious neglect of duties or non-appearance in court.

Espina said 11 officers were also subjected for demotion for committing various offenses and for going AWOL. They were identified as  PO3 Alain Sigua, PO2 Ehron Balauat, PO2 Christopher Flores, PO2 Rodnie Plana, SPO1 Edgar Mejia, PO3 Marlon Gomez, PO3 Edgar Nargatan, PO1 Manuel Augdera , PO3 Raymundo  Potonia, P03 Edgardo Mariano, and PO3 Rodolfo Laxamana.

Moreover, the seven officers who were punished with 60 days of suspension were PO1 Erickson Fajardo, PO3 Ronnie Aquino for grave misconduct; PO2 Alcee Jumaquiao, PO1 Pemar Taguinod and SPO1 Edris Hanani  for non-appearance in court; while PO3 Rolando Monteverde and PO1 Willia Cajayon for going on AWOL.

Prior to this, Espina already dismissed from the police service 18 erring cops.
