Top cops get dressing down from Roxas at PNP command conference

MANILA, Philippines—Some regional chiefs reportedly got a dressing down Monday from Interior Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II in his first command conference with top officials of the Philippine National Police.

A source said the command conference that started around 9 a.m. took a bit longer than expected because Roxas gave a sermon to each of the 17 regional chiefs one by one by draw lots.

Before a lunch break at 12 noon, eight chiefs were said to have gotten off the hot seat.

This was the first official visit of Roxas to the PNP since he was assigned to take over the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
