MANILA, Philippines—With his inclusion in  the  Liberal Party coalition’s senatorial  ticket in 2013, Senator   Francis  “Chiz” Escudero  hopes  to get  the  endorsement of his perceived foe, Interior Secretary  Manuel “Mar”  Roxas  II.

“Sana, syempre, bakit hindi?  Pero hindi para sa akin na idikta yun (I hope so, of course, why not? But it’s not for me to say),” Escudero said during a regular forum in the Senate  on Thursday.

After all, Escudero said, he was not mad at  Roxas.

“Hindi ako galit sa kanya. Wala kaming  pinag-awayan (I am not angry at him. We have no quarrel),”  said the senator.

Escudero and Roxas  are being  pitted  against each other after the senator endorsed the  candidacy  of Roxas’ rival in the 2010 elections,  Vice President  Jejomar Binay.
