US-based Pinoys rule Phil-Asia int’l bodybuilding

UNITED STATES-BASED Filipino bodybuilders Mike Baello and Luzviminda McClinton ruled the Mr. and Ms. Phil-Asia 2012 International Bodybuilding Championships last Saturday at the Mariners Court in Pier One, Cebu City.

Baello, who topped the Mr. Physique medium class category, won the men’s overall crown while the multi-titled McClinton, the Ms. Figure winner, was crowned overall champion in the women’s class.

With the victories, Baello and McClinton earned slots to the World championships in Germany and the Amateur Olympia in Kuwait this year.

Baello and Mc Clinton were joined in the finals by other category winners.

Iranian Mehdi Hajiali Lavijani captured the title in the tall class and novice class. The athletic class was dominated by Filipino Reymond Jacobo. Leigh Guda of Quezon City topped the bikini competition and Ms. fitness class. Josephine Teria topped the Ms. Physique. In the master’s class, Nelson Totanes emerged victorious while Sandy Bontuyan snatched the title in the short class.

The competition, which was part of the celebration of Workout Fitness Center’s 25th anniversary, was sanctioned by the International Bodybuilding Association and the Unified Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation of the Philippines (UBFFP).
