MJDL five, Limasawa make finals
Cebu Daily NewsUNDEFEATED MJDL Customs Brokerage tripped Kentkyla Cuisine, 76-68, Thursday night to advance to the final round of the Bureau of Customs-3rd Major Alfonso Abbariao Cup-2012 basketball tournament at the Benedicto College gym.
MJDL will face Limasawa Customs Brokerage in the winner-take-all final next week after the latter toppled Green, 85-77.
Kenneth Maningo and Bert Real led Kentkyle Cuisine’s strong start, 17-15 but the Cuisiners cooled down in the 2nd and 3rd quarters allowing MJDL to post sizeable leads. Kentkyle went strong again in the fourth and outscored MJDL, 22-20, but failed to regain the lead as time expired.
Janus Abellana and Jaymar Elloren led MJDL with 21 and 19 points, respectively, while Ramil Aniñon and Kenneth Maningo paced Kentkyle with 20 and 17 markers.
In the other game, Green led, 20-19 in the opening period, but Limasawa snatched the advantage in the succeeding quarters to seal the 8-point victory. /Correspondent Dale Rosal
