Floods hit parts of Metro Manila

MANILA, Philippines—Parts of Metro Manila experienced flooding following a thunderstorm Monday night, the Metro Manila Development Authority said.

España Antipolo; 6 inches as of 9:40 PM, Bonifacio Monument Circle (BMC); gutter deep, as of 9:35 PM.

Quezon Ave Lung Center; 8 inches, Burgos Lopez; 8 inches, EDSA cor North Ave; 1 lane passable as pf 9:40 PM.

EDSA Quezon Ave service road, both direction; not passable to light vehicles as of 9:40 PM.

Quezon Ave Biak Na Bato; not passable to light vehicles as of 9:35 PM.

D. Tuazon Quezon Ave; 20 inches as of 9:30 PM.

As of 9:30 PM, Talayan Creek/ Maria Clara Araneta; near spilling level.

Retiro-Banawe & Quezon Ave-Banawe. Not passable to all types of vehicles as of 9:20 PM.

EDSA P.Tuazon tunnel NB & SB; gutter deep, EDSA New York SB; gutter deep, ERB; gutter deep, as of 9:20 PM.

East Ave/ V.Luna; gutter deep, Quezon Ave Araneta; gutter deep, Tomas Morato, ABS CBN; gutter deep as of 9:17 PM,

R. Papa Rizal Ave. not passable to all types of vehicles, as of 9:20 PM.

EDSA Project 7, EDSA Balintawak, EDSA Aurora tunnel NB & SB; gutter deep as of 9:15 PM.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration issued a thunderstorm advisory at 8:24p.m.

    Ulan lang stand still na naman metro manila. This is what you call overdevelopment. The metropolis is alrweady having a hard time sustaining itself. Pano pa kaya yong mga bagong condo projrcts sprouting sa metro.

      nakakatakut na actually. konting ulan lang, baha na ang metropolis at iba pang lugar na kalapit nito. panu pa kung isang malakas na bagyo ang tumama sa ating bayan.
       wala pa silang planong maisayos ito at bagkus dirediretso lang ang pag “develop” ng metro. ang nagign solusyon, condo/high rise. maliit na lupain, pero mataas na building.
      hindi babahain ang mga bumili ng units. di na naisip na i decongest ang metro manila….

    sana naman ma check if yong mga squatters na umalis dati sa mga waterways dahil binaha sila ay baka nagsibalikan na naman doon, which could be one of the reasons why it’s so easy again for floods to happen. please investigate!

    The government will only react if the CCTV was already underwater! Similar to watching an aquarium!…HAWR..HAWR..HAWR!!!
