Woman found hanging by the neck in Camotes

A 19-YEAR-OLD woman was found hanging dead from a mango tree outside her house in barangay Western Poblacion, San Francisco town on Camotes Island, Cebu.

Remia Boyaban used a nylon rope in hanging herself, said police.

The father of the woman, Rico Boyaban, told police that his daughter had just been fired as a helper after her employer in Manila accused her of stealing P5,000.

Rico said his daughter was embarrassed because of the accusation and this may have driven her to commit suicide.

Police said it was the father who found the victim hanging by the neck at 5:30 a.m. last Sunday.

The woman was rushed to the Ricardo Maningo District Hospital but attending physicians declared her dead./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
