Gunmen break into QC home, steal P330K worth of valuables

By

MANILA, Philippines—Armed men barged into a house in Quezon City on Sunday afternoon and robbed its 10 occupants of over P300,000 worth of cash valuables, police said.

The three assailants forcibly entered house of Jeffrey Reyes, 31, on K-3rd St. in Barangay Kamuning at around 3:45 p.m. and tied up the homeowner and another man, according to PO4 Diosdado Lagaynon.

The robbers also locked eight other people inside a room on the second of second floor of the house, Lagaynon said.

The complainant the armed robbers carted away P50,000 in cash; three laptops worth P100,000; 10 wristwatches worth P100,000; jewelry valued at P80,000; six mobile phones and an iPod.

Lagaynon said two of the assailants have been identified in the police rogues gallery but declined to give their identities.

Initial investigation showed that the gate of the house was locked but the front door was open.

Lagaynon said one of the robbers probably scaled the fence and unlocked the gate from the inside.

He added that a dog stood watch at the gate but did not bark, as it may have been given a sedative.

The victims told the police that one of the suspects managed to open the front door and ask them about a certain Elmer.

Two cohorts then barged into the house and rounded up its occupants inside a second floor room before ransacking the place.
