MANILA, Philippines–It is time for the judiciary to move on from the impeachment of Chief Justice Renato Corona, a Supreme Court Associate Justice said Monday
Associate Justice Roberto Abad said his sentiment is shared by the other high court justices as well.

“It’s something that you should give credit to the members (justices) of the Court. We should move on,” he told reporters in an ambush interview.

Abad is one of the contenders for the Chief Justice post. During the public interview with members of the Judicial and Bar Council, he admitted being a good friend of Corona.

He said he is neither the type of person who will leave a friend behind nor the type of person who will betray the institution.

Aside from Abad and Sereno, other high court justices included in the shortlist are Associate Justices Teresita Leonardo de Castro, Arturo Brion, Antonio Carpio.

good attitude. but i hope somewhere along the line, when the public sees how empty this showbiz government really is in terms of accomplishment or ability, they can revisit the damage done to the checks and balance of the constitution.

Assholeshit Justiis Roberto Abad…Corona issue is history but the verdict of Justice should be read aloud and be heard by the People of the Philippines!! We want to see the life story of Corona in the Movie!!!…CORONA…ANG HARI NG CITY JAIL!!!

  • ThePatriot

Si garci, si gloria, AT SI CORONA iLAGAY SA DEATH CHAIR! and we can say, they are history.

Please analyze ‘nyo ‘tong statements ni Justice Abad about the Corona impeachment:

“we have a wounded court after the impeachment trial. We were taken aback by this and discouraged.”

Abad said it is time to forgive
President Benigno Aquino III and Congress. “And forgive us also,”

    Supreme Court should
move on from the controversies that haunted it from the impeachment of
Chief Justice Renato Corona to the appointment of one of the most junior
    justice as Chief Justice.

    Corona impeachment was
healthy for the country but he was saddened by because he lost a friend.

Hindi ‘nyo ba nahahalata na kahit sa mga statements ni Justice Abad
about the Corona impeachment ay flip-flopping ‘sya ? Typical of the
    GMA Supreme Court ?

They cannot move on! They are too old, too deep scarred that they cannot and will not even do the decency of standing still respecting the flag!

They say something is difficult until someone is able to do it, and then everybody goes on to do it. After one of them had been successfully impeached, how can the justices feel the same as before with 188 swords of Damocles poised over their heads?

ibig niya sabihin kahit masakit move on pa rin siya kahit namamangka sa dalawang ilog.

You are all force to move on because unprofessional and childish employees don’t have place in our government!

  • Cal_Reznick

Who hasn’t moved on? I think everyone has moved on. That must have been one of the most useless statements made in the past month amongst a slew of useless statements from the Administration.

But then again, you can’t blame the SC justice for trying to do something…its not like the SC is doing anything significant nowadays anyway, except for raising flags once a week.

I guess we have the President to thank for all this.
