San Beda rescapes LetranCebu Daily News

THE SAN BEDA Red Lions reaffirmed their mastery over the Letran Knights as they defeated their bitter rivals, 68-62, in the 88th NCAA men’s basketball tournament last Saturday night at the Arena in San Juan City.
The win gave the Red Lions a 10-2 (win-loss) record, for top spot in the league. It was also their 13th straight win over the Knights, a streak that dates way back to 2007. The defeat evened Letran’s record out at 6-6 as the Knights continue to pursuit a spot in the Final Four.
Even with a complete roster that now boasts of a frontline that has Mythical Five center Raymund Almazan and Jonathan Belorio, the Knights still could not contain San Beda’s Nigerian anchor in the middle, Ola Adeogun, who finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds, just behind Art dela Cruz’s production of 14 markers./Correspondent Jonas Panerio
