Magnitude 6 quake jolts Surigao del Norte

MANILA, Philippines—A strong magnitude 6 earthquake struck off Surigao del Norte Saturday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
The offshore quake was centered at 72 kilometers north-east of Burgos town in Surigao del Norte and had a shallow depth of 32 kilometers.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
On Friday night, a 7.6 magnitude tremor hit off Eastern Samar, triggering a tsunami warning in the Asia Pacific region.
