Store owner took his time vs ‘Akyat Bahay’ duo

Two suspected “Akyat Bahay” thieves were arrested on Thursday for stealing alcoholic drinks and cigarettes from a sari-sari store in Caloocan City.

Michael Donato, 18, and Carlos Llebado, 21, have been charged with theft after they were caught carrying two bottles of liquor and boxes of cigarettes from the store owned by Botto Garcia in Barangay Bagong Silang.

Garcia said he was about to open his store when he saw signs that someone had broken into the place. Spotting the two suspects, he quietly left and headed to a nearby precinct.

A police team later arrived and found Donato and Llebado still inside the store and were about to make off with two bottles of brandy and two reams of cigarettes. Nathaniel R. Melican
