MANILA, Philippines—Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno has required all officials and employees of the Supreme Court to attend the regular flag ceremony every Monday.
“Chief Justice orders all SC officials and employees to attend flag raising ceremonies on Monday,” Court Administrator Jose Midas Marquez said in a text message sent to reporters.
Sereno, the 24th Chief Justice and the first lady justice in history, is the third most junior justice in the Supreme Court. Her appointment has bypassed 12 other more senior justices.
