Woman killed in Lapu road accident

A WOMAN was killed while two others were wounded in a collision between a motorcycle and a tricycle in barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City.

Relle Nina Saladaga, 23, died a few minutes after she was brought to the Mactan Doctors’ Hospital.

Saladaga was a worker of Swiss Sence Worldwide Inc. based in barangay Basak.

She and co-worker Ramil Comcom, 22, were asked by their office to follow up something.

Police said Saladaga rode a motorcycle driven by Comcom when they figured in the accident shortly before noon yesterday.

Police said the motorcycle was about to cross the street when it collided with a tricycle driven by Jilbert Cabalhug, 31.

After the collision, the motorcycle was hit by an Isuzu trailer truck driven by Cosme Item, 52.

Saladaga was thrown off the motorcycle. Comcom and the motorcycle were pinned under the truck.

The tricycle overturned because of the impact. The passenger of the tricycle Evelyn Toloneo was injured.

Further investigation will be made to determine who will be held liable for the accident, said police./CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
