‘Igme’ expected to return to PH–Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines –Typhoon “Igme” (international code name: Tembun) was forecast to re-enter the Philippine territory within the next 24-36 hours and affect extreme Northern Luzon, the state weather bureau said on Monday.
As of 8a.m., the eye of “Igme” was located 360 kilometers west of Basco, Batanes packing maximum sustained winds of 140kph near the center and gustiness of up to 170kph, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
“Igme” was moving east northeast at 11 kph.
The southwest monsoon enhanced by typhoons “Igme” and “Julian” will bring occasional moderate to heavy rains or a ranfall amount between 3.0 and 12 mm/hr with strong winds in Northern Luzon which may trigger flashfloods and landslides, Pagasa said.
Meanwhile, light to moderate (2.0 – 7.5 mm/hr) rains were expected over Central Luzon and Metro Manila.
