Suspected illegal drug trader nabbed in Taguig City

By

MANILA, Philippines – A suspected illegal drug trader was arrested in Taguig City Thursday after selling  10 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or  “shabu”  to an undercover narcotics agent, a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) official said on Friday.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Jose Gutierrez Jr. said the suspect, identified as Francisco San Diego Jr. a.k.a. Sammy, was arrested in an entrapment operation along Kamatsile Street, Purok 4 in Lower Bicutan, Taguig City around 7:30 p.m.

San Diego allegedly sold the  shabu to a PDEA agent who posed as a buyer, Gutierrez said.

He said a certain “Mario” or “Omar” was the original target of the operation, but it was San Diego who got arrested after he came in behalf of the former who didn’t show up.

San Diego, who faces charges for violations of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, was temporarily under the custody of PDEA Intelligence and Investigation Service, Gutierrez said.
