Secretary Alcala lauds strength of Robredo’s family

MANILA, Philippines— Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala on Wednesday said he was personally amazed with the strength displayed by the members of Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo’s family.
“Kita mo ang kanilang katatagan. Alam naman po natin na after a while na siya po ay malibing ay doon po ang mas masakit na parte na mawalan nang isang kasama sa buhay (You can see their strength. We all know that after the burial, that’s the more painful part of losing a loved one),” Alcala said in an interview over Radyo Inquirer 990 AM.
Alacala said he went to Naga Tuesday afternoon to pay respects and to be with Robredo’s wife, lawyer Leni Robredo, his three daughters—Aika, Patricia, and Jillian.
Alcala recalled the times he was with Robredo during their meetings with other Liberal Party members and noted how Robredo’s death was a great loss to the present administration.
He said Robredo was a simple and happy man who dedicated himself to the service of the Filipino people.
